⏱️ Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes
🍽️ Servings: 4
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra juiciness)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
Salt & pepper, to taste
For the Butter Sauce:
6 tbsp unsalted butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (or ½ tsp dried)
1 tsp paprika
½ cup chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream (optional for creamy version)
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
1 tbsp lemon juice (for brightness)
For Serving (Optional):
Mashed potatoes, rice, or warm dinner rolls
Steamed veggies or roasted green beans
Instructions:
1. Prep the chicken:
Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Season generously on both sides with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
2. Sear the chicken:
In a large cast-iron or oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and sear for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Make the butter sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Stir in minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, and paprika. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom (that’s where the flavor lives!). Simmer for 3 minutes.
4. Add cream (optional):
For a creamy version, whisk in heavy cream and let simmer until slightly thickened.
5. Return chicken to skillet:
Nestle the seared chicken back into the sauce. Spoon the buttery mixture over the top. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10–12 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
6. Finish with lemon & parsley:
Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chicken and sprinkle with parsley before serving.
7. Serve & enjoy:
Pair your buttery chicken with fluffy mashed potatoes, rice, or warm rolls to soak up every last drop of that golden sauce.
Tips & Variations:
✅ Swap chicken breasts for thighs for even juicier meat.
✅ Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
