
Slow Cooker Cheesy Sausage and Hash Brown Casserole
Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 (30 oz) bag frozen hash browns, thawed
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
½ cup milk
½ cup chopped onion
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Sausage:
Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
Combine the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the hash browns, cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, and chopped onion. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
Assemble in the Slow Cooker:
Lightly grease the inside of a slow cooker. Transfer the hash brown mixture into the slow cooker, spreading it out evenly.
Cook the Casserole:
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy the comforting, cheesy goodness of this easy casserole!
