BUTTER BOILED CORN ON THE COB 🌽🧈
Sweet, juicy, and dripping with buttery goodness — this Butter Boiled Corn on the Cob is a summertime classic you’ll crave all year long! Perfect for backyard BBQs, family dinners, or as an easy side dish that steals the show. The secret? Boiling your corn right in a pot of melted butter and milk for extra flavor and unbeatable tenderness!
Ingredients:
6 fresh ears of sweet corn, husked and cleaned
1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
1 cup whole milk
Water, enough to cover the corn
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Fresh herbs or grated Parmesan for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Pot:
In a large stockpot, place the cleaned ears of corn. Pour in enough water to cover the corn completely.
Add the stick of butter and cup of whole milk to the pot. The milk and butter will create a creamy, rich bath for the corn to soak up flavor while cooking.
Boil the Corn:
3. Bring the pot to a boil over high heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat slightly to maintain a gentle boil.
4. Cook the corn for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure all sides cook evenly. The kernels should be bright yellow and tender.
Flavor Boost (Optional):
5. For extra flavor, sprinkle salt directly into the boiling water while cooking. You can also toss in a few sprigs of fresh herbs like thyme or dill for an herbal touch.
Serve:
6. Remove the corn from the pot using tongs. Let any excess liquid drip off.
7. Serve hot with additional melted butter, a sprinkle of salt and pepper, and garnish with fresh herbs or grated Parmesan if desired.
