Ingredients:
For the Beef:
1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp sesame oil
For the Sauce:
ΒΌ cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp sriracha or chili paste (optional, for heat)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
For the Noodles & Veggies:
10 oz (280g) rice noodles, egg noodles, or spaghetti
1 tbsp sesame oil (for tossing noodles)
1 cup carrots, julienned
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 green onions, chopped
2 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Fresh cilantro or basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Marinate the beef:
In a bowl, combine sliced beef, soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Toss well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prep the sauce and veggies.
2. Cook the noodles:
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook noodles according to package directions. Drain, rinse, and toss with a drizzle of sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
3. Make the sticky sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sriracha (if using), garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
4. Sear the beef:
Heat a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil and cook the marinated beef in batches, about 2β3 minutes per side, until browned but not overcooked. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
5. Cook the veggies:
In the same pan, add carrots and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3β4 minutes until crisp-tender.
6. Bring it all together:
Return beef to the pan, pour in the sticky sauce, and toss to coat everything evenly. Let it simmer for 2β3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the beef. Add cooked noodles and toss again until fully coated and glossy.
7. Garnish & serve:
Top with green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh herbs if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the sticky, savory-sweet goodness!
